Tejano artist Joe Lopez’s fight for a new trial has come to end.
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has refused to review his case closing it for any other appeals.
The 59-year-old musician is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sexually assault and molesting a 13-year-old girl.
Lopez is eligble to apply for parole in 2016.
The Tejano star, whose real name is Jose Manuel Lopez, had been fighting for a new trial since his October 2006 conviction.
The 13th Court of Appeals upheld the his conviction on three charges and their concurrent sentences back in May.
Lopez had continued to fight but this week’s decision ends his legal options.
The Rio Grande Valley native is the former frontman for legendary Tejano group Grupo Mazz from Brownsville.
Lopez had a solo career that was cut short by the allegation, trial and conviction.

I am a very big fan of Joe Lopez. We hear how he was convicted. Yet there are still questions. I know it is wrong him doing what he was accused of doing, but I just can not believe it. I am sure the young girl was not totally innocent. Where are all the facts?
