So the 28th Annual Jay Perez Awards
TTMA's are in the books so now would be a good time to check my handy
dandy notebook to share some thoughts that were jotted down during this
years events.
Sunny Sauceda and Joe Posada got screwed this year.... I wonder if they are as pissed as I am?
"Que Metida De Pata" should be banned from any band playing it at Fan Fair! We kept a running count of how many times we heard it during the weekend and it was well over 30! If you don't think that is alot... stop what you are doing and count to 30.... I'll wait.
Are the buildings getting smaller or am I getting fatter?
Jay Perez won 3 awards this year... I wonder if anyone knows any of his new songs?
Ruben Ramos got louder applauses then anyone else the TTMA Music Awards....
The Divas own the media room... both veteran and up and coming
Whomever does the
scheduling at the TTMA Fan Fair should get fired... Artists
representing TTMA sponsors should not be performing 5 ft. from oncoming
street traffic on remote street curbs stages. And
singers singing along to Selena cd's (not even tracks) should not be on
the main stage! The multiple bands being pulled off stage in the middle
of performances is also an issue of concern. The musicians deserve
better... if only there were a musician association around to give it to
them...
Do my eyes deceive me... or do the young people actually outnumber the older people this year? hmmm...
There is alot of talent in La Onda... but not much originality....
$16.00 for 3 fajita tacos and some lemonade... and it was worth it...
The TTMA needs more space for Fan Fair... they are discriminating against fat people....
.....
Simplemente........WoW!!!Â

Much Luv!

More thoughts
All those fans at Fan Fair on Sunday should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting Tejano. They should have been at the rally in Houston.Â
TAP, it's time for you to start working out! And you'll save money by eating less gorditas.
The great ideas and solutions at the Tejano Music Forum didn't really get started until after 12:30 pm.
If Tejano music is dead then why was it so damn crowded at Market Square?!
Out of state bands kicked ass especially Chepito from Utah. Somebody get those guys some more gigs.
The speakers at the Concho
stagelot looked like they were salvaged from a Goodwill dumpster. The carpet was all faded and ripped with duct tape patchings. And only 4 of the 8 speakers were actaully plugged in.People need to learn how to walk in one direction and quit stopping in the middle and jamming up progress. Get out of the line if you want to visit with your friends.
It's quicker to walk around Market Square than to walk through.
Of all the sexy, female artists, Veronica is the only one that holds a special place in my heart.
Who were those kids running around video taping people?
I agree
Before I became a professional musician, I too used to play the fan fair with my local band Xtremo. You guys are right, some of these stages did look like crap and we never got to play our full alloted time on whatever stage we were performing. We were a great band and yet they had little girls on the main stages singing to "tracks" and had us on these little stages away from everyone. I agree these people need to revamp this whole event.
As for the Rally in Houston, This was a HISTORICAL EVENT!!!! It was very inspiring to see that many Tejanos stand up for what they believe in. The boss man (Little Joe) did a great job rallying the people up. It was a rush being on that stage. It was also an honor to have Skeeter Almesquita and Luis (I forgot his last name) sit in with us on Trumpet.
 Great weeked overall!
If you get a chance, dont forget to come Celebrate our Grammy win in Robstown Texas this Sat.
Big Bad John-Trumpet-Little Joe Y La Familia
Agreed
Those smaller stages should be reserved for the Scaryoke track singers. That should never be on a mainstage area. There sometimes seems to be an issue with alcohol induced sound problems as well. Work is work....paid or unpaid. Be professional! I remain optimistic that the 29th will be better?!Â
Much Luv!
