Many artisy say that they knew since a tender age that they wanted to be a music performer. Others realize there destiny at different seasons of there lives as did Kristie Villarreal.Born and raised in Port Lavaca Texas , it all began in her high school years. With microphone in hand she delivered her most touching performance to her entire school body and community. It was Senior Day 1996 and Kristie brought her audience to tears and there feet when she performed La Mafia's " Un Million De Rosas " as a tribute song to deceased classmate Rosa Benavides. With the energy and excitement in the air Kristie knew she was destined to sing and perform. Her talents were never known to be in choir but band and athletics. She stepped out into the limelight and joined the choir under the direction of Sonya Holejosky. Her talent and performing abilities were quickly noted and she was asked to join the Varsity Singers. This opportunity allowed her to go out into the public and perform and gave her the desire to entertain. Kristie's vocal abilities were nurtured by her choir director and fans. She continued to perform the Tejano Music she loved throughout her high school years for numerous events. Upon graduation she was awarded a choir scholarship to Wharton Jr. College where she attended for a short while. Her desire was to pursue a career in the Tejano Music Industry. She looked up to many artist like Selena, Elsa Garcia and La Mafia. Determined to make her dream a realty she kept practicing and sang as a solo artist at weddings and quincineras for several years. Many years later, opportunity came knocking when Kristie met up with Grammy Award Winning Producer Chris Dominguez, a.k.a Urbano B. Together they wrote her first single, " La Misma Mujer", a catchy urban cumbia that attracted the listening ears of not only the youth but the veteran listeners as well. The single recieved air-play throughout the state of Texas including KTJK (Del Rio,Tx), KJTZ(Abilene,TX), KEJS (Lubbock,Tx.), KPSO (Falfurrias,Tx.) KUVA (Uvalde, Tx.) and KHMC (Victoria, Tx.). The single also caught the attention of newspaper and music magazines. Kristie Villarreal then tied in her music business ventures with Music Pro Entertainment/Ro Records which know handles her recordings/promotions. Her voice is a breath of fresh air and is sure to be around for years to come. Debut album due to out real soon so be looking out for it in a store near you.
