Premios Texas 2009
(Interview with “Ruben Robledo” – Executive Producer of Premios Texas)
Having interviewed Mr. Robledo of the Premios Texas, I have come to a great conclusion that this year will be a great show. Not only does Premios Texas have a Tejano Category, but they also support the artists and push for them to get exposure. Performing again this year will be “Bobby Pulido” (Quick tidbit – last year “Bobby Pulido” performed live at the Awards show and was backed up by the New Urban Cumbia Group “Cinco Doce” [5-12].) Also, hitting the stage (however not Tejano, but still fantastic) will be Olga Tanon, the legendary Latina recording artist. With both of these powerful performers hitting the stage and much more, this is sure to turn out to be a powerful show and well worth the attendance.

Mr. Robledo also personally assured me that Univision Austin and National have a great interest in Tejano Music and its fans. With the inclusion of Tejano in the Premios, the inclusion of Tejano Music on their broadcasting network and more they will always have a connection to Tejano in one way or another.

Personally, I think more of our artists could be included in more than one of these categories since we are a form of Latin music. I do appreciate the hard work Univision Austin has done in getting Tejano involved in the show and on their airwaves. Remember when we were down and out; it was Univision not BMP to attempt a rescue.
I would also like to thank Mr. Ruben Robledo for the Interview, the time, consideration and the hard work. May this Premios Texas and all others be successful!
