Named after the Tejano Superstar the Boutique and salon opened in 1993.

Selena Etc. Boutique and Salon, has shut its doors.

The for sale sign went up about a week ago, just after the merchandise was removed. The building is owned by Chris Perez, Selena’s widower, and appraised at $91,454, according to the Nueces County Appraisal District.

The current asking price for the location is $165,000 according to George Clower, vice president of the Clower Co.

As of a few days ago the phone number was disconnected and no merchandise can be found inside there is also a for sale sign posted in the window. The Boutique and Salon was located in the 4900 block of Everhart Road.

Several people have inquired about the location according to Mr. Clower.

“Some of it could be due to the history of the place, but it’s in a good central location and has plenty of traffic,” Clower said.

The boutique in San Antonio closed after Selena’s death.

Both stores featured a full-service salon as well as memorabilia and fashions, some of them designed by the Selena. They also sold jewelry, hats and other accessories.

Fans may enjoy her designs, mementos and more at the Selena Museum located inside Q Productions at 5410 Leopard St.
